About St. Louis Pirates Baseball Club

St. Louis Pirates College and Pro Development Baseball Club is dedicated to the promotion of elite boy's baseball in St. Louis and the surrounding areas. The 2012 season will be the St. Louis Pirates 13th year. St. Louis Pirates Baseball Club's mission is to provide exceptionally dedicated coaches to train players to play at their highest level. Through this training life lessons are learned and a love for the game is fostered. Along with this mission our coaches have a number of ties and contacts with college coaches across the United States. This allows our players an advantage in pursuing playing opportunities in college and beyond.

St. Louis Pirates Baseball Club is dedicated to TEACHING baseball to all players. We do not simply roll out the balls and let the kids hit. We are a program, meaning, we have defined clear goals for all age levels. This structured program approach allows our players to advance from age level to age level with the proper skill sets needed to compete and excel beyond their current age level. With that said, all coaches have consistent practice plans that are implemented with great thought and purpose. It is our coach's expertise and dedication that is the difference in a player's development. We provide uniform coaching philosophies practiced by current collegiate teams to optimize our teams' performance. It is our goal to be competitive on the national level, and we are dedicated to achieving this goal for all teams.

Our coaching staff boasts a list of former/current collegiate and pro players and coaches that has been called 'exceptional' by current college coaches. That experience brings several college coaches to compliment us every year on how well trained our teams are. They notice an enormous difference in the skill of our teams compared to our competitors. They believe this a result of the coaching we provide. We make average players good, good players great, and great players outstanding.

Our coaches are positive teachers and instill the highest morals. The highest ethical standards are presented to the players by the coaches and staff to aid in the building of character and self-esteem. Players exhibiting behavior that is inappropriate is not tolerated and is handled justly. These young men leave our program as the best of baseball players and the best of young men.

The coaches' success also exhibits itself in the players learning of life lessons. Our players leave having learned that the good of the many out weigh the good of the one, that there is no I in team, that opportunity is not given but earned, that unity is gained through shared experiences, and that sacrifice for a goal is the only way to reach the goal. Along with these lessons unity throughout St. Louis Pirates Baseball Club is nurtured during the year, and at the end we are not a club of 11 teams, but one family.

The St. Louis Pirates recruit players who are projected to be college or draftable players. We seek the player who is capable of playing at the highest level of amateur competition. We do considerable research on each potential recruit, both as a player and as a person before we offer a spot on our team. We want the player who has not only the ability to play, but also the proper attitude.

Our players generally come from the states of Missouri and Illinois, but we recruit nationally. While our primary mission is to help the players in the states of Missouri and Illinois, we do occasionally recruit players from other states on recommendations from college coaches (D1,D2,D3,Juco, Naia) and/or professional scouts. We do this for several reasons, but primarily to maintain competitiveness and to draw additional attention to all our players though high profile players from other areas.

Our players come from recommendations from college coaches, professional scouts and our own recruiting staff. We compile our recruiting lists from watching the player in game competition and/or major showcases. Our staff spend a great deal of time during the high school baseball season watching players we feel could compete at the highest level. If you feel you or someone you know can play at this level and would like to be considered for one of our teams fill out the "Recommend a Prospect" form and we will have someone check the player out. The form can be located in the menu on the main page or by following the link below.
